After several weeks of work, I have finally settled down into some sort of routine to fit fun stuff in during the weekends. There are many restaurants and cafes in the Twin Cities area that I have wanted to try, so I thought it would be fun to share these expeditions here. Last Saturday, I went on a brunch date with my mom at the Lynn on Bryant. I discovered this place through several blogs and from randomly browsing instagram, and it looked like such an adorable place to visit :P.

This restaurant/cafe is tucked in the Lynnhurst neighborhood, and while small, had a laidback and uplifting feel to it. I really enjoyed the natural sunlight streaming in, and it was a nice place for my mom and me to take our time eating and have a nice long chat. By the way, isn't my momma purdy?

My mom ordered the baked pancake with meyer lemon confit and a side of maple bacon steak. These two dishes were definitely the highlight of our brunch! The picture above does not even come close to depicting how amazing they tasted. The baked pancake was so moist and custard-y and the sweet and slightly tangy meyer lemon confit brought a nice balance. And of course the maple bacon steak. Bacon steak. What more do I need to say?

I got the omelette with kale and goat cheese, and the mushroom soup pictured way on top. I was feeling a little under the weather that day, and the freshly pureed mushroom soup really hit the spot.

The baked pancake and bacon steak got me hooked, so I will probably be back for those and the doughnuts that I really wanted to try but unfortunately did not have space for in the end because we were too full (I know, run-on, hehe). The Lynn on Bryant is definitely a great brunch spot, though I would probably recommend going there in smaller groups because of the smaller and cozier layout. Recommendation: get the maple bacon steak!

  1. Food looks good :) If I'm ever in the area, hopefully in the near future, I'll check the place out.
